Weekly Update (28/09 - 4/10)

Hello, everyone! πŸ’• (And especially my future self)

I wonder why I stopped doing these updates and accountability posts. Anyway I'm backkkk with this :)
I also decided to try taking my writing more seriously like writing what I learnt (just remembered I haven't written that post yet about cars).

And as usual, this will include hobbies too. (And also some other things 😭)

But before I start, I realized I mostly gravitate into things I liked as a child. And now I really feel like I'm more art inclined than science inclined.

MUSIC:
The long awaited Diploma in Music Theory by Yale was finally completed.
I started it three years ago around this time and I do not know if it was because of Nursing school or other responsibilities but I never finished it.
Will probably start playing the guitar again, but dont know when.

WRITING:
SOCIALS: So, for the longest time, I only ever posted my writings and some of my works here but I want to be bolder and try out more things so I started also posting my stuff on Tumblr (@beela303) and Twitter/X (@Beela303).
This will help me more in putting myself out there.
And seriously, if people do read my stuff and like it cool and if they don't, also cool. I'd love to see some of my works/posts in a year and be like "wow! I've come a long way" and at this point I feel this is now a personal wiki.
But I'm still contemplating if monthly/weekly updates should be posted on Twitter though.

POETRY:
I didn't really feel motivated to write any this week (except for the reposts that I did on Twitter & Tumblr)

MINI UPDATE: I made a substack (@beela303), I don't know if I should reupload my poems there or only use it for articles and long form content. I think I'll go with the latter.

I just remembered that my Reddit is still banned I've been there for over 3 years and barely made up to 10 posts and rarely commented. I've submitted an appeal twice now but it's still the same ΰ² _Κ–ΰ²

NOVEL:
Last week, I drafted the outline for my novel (from where I was writing) to the end. For a long time now, I didn't know how the novel should go or how it should end or maybe I wanted it to be in a more dramatically rational way.

But as with all other things; my life, blogs, socials, poetry etc. It is mine! And this novel is mine so I write it in a way that I like and it's fine if it also doesn't turn out in a way that people like.

I wrote 4000 words this week and I'm currently on Chapter 11 (my current word count is about 30k).

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT:
Currently a Python Intern, let's not dig further. Thank you!
(I've been brushing up on JavaScript, Python and more recently Java ʘ‿ʘ I think the best way to go about this is building more projects by myself or using advanced/intermediate tutorials to get better)

ART:
Traditional Art: I've been doing more and more pencil art these days. I saw a Golden Ratio tutorial by Mmmmonexxx (I think that's how it's spelt) and it was so good. It made me understand more about breaking the face down.
I discovered an amazing art youtuber too that shares lessons, he's Will Davies Art, I watched two videos of this about placing features and drawing portraits. It was a mind opener. Like wow!

So far, I feel my art is improving. I've been experimenting with hatching techniques for portraits, different face angles and painting in digital art.

FASHION DESIGN:
Three years ago I got a Diploma in Fashion Design but I would like to review some concepts AGAIN :-| (TT) ΰ² ︵ΰ²  ΰ²₯‿ΰ²₯ ⊙﹏⊙ soo.... I signed up for another course but this one's an incredibly short one and goes over some basic to intermediate stuff.

DANCE:
Kiss and Tell (Chorus) by Aespa
Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to practice, I'm about 65% good with the upper body but haven't really practiced much with my lower body and also synchronizing everything.
And lastly I'll work on facial expressions.
Maybe someday, I'll post dance covers :)

LANGUAGE LEARNING:
From now on, I will be studying Korean and Chinese together.
So many Korean words stem from Chinese characters and there are lots that sound the same. The Chinese characters I knew and used them in studying Korean helped me tighten my vocab more.
So for now, I will no longer be studying Korean and Chinese using the HSK and TOPIK, but will be studying them in groups.
I want to experiment with this and see how it goes.
I already made a post about Colours and Family & Friends with these two languages.

COURSES:
Apart from the music course which I didn't finish there's also the project management course sitting at 47% which I need to complete (although that may not be anytime soon but in the near future).

THE ARTS:
Research, Anthropology, Literature, Politics & History:
I found lovely courses about these and will be completing them in the near future (hopefully).

Have fun and pursue your passions!

Till next week,
Queen Beela (Nabila Abubakar | @beela303)
